بدأنا «خطيرة» لأننا نؤمن بقدرة المحتوى على إحداث تغيير حقيقي في حياة النساء العربيات. وعلى مدار سبع سنوات، لمسنا هذا التأثير من خلال مئات الرسائل والتعليقات التي كانت تصلنا يومياً من نساء وجدن في خطيرة صديقة يلجأن إليها في أصعب لحظاتهن، ليتذكرن أنهن لسن وحدهن، وأن لديهن القدرة على تشكيل مصائرهن وصناعة مستقبلهن.

هذا التأثير لم يكن ممكناً دون الحفاظ على استقلاليتنا التحريرية، واختيار مصادر تمويل تتماشى مع قيمنا وتوجهاتنا. ولكن مع تضاؤل فرص التمويل وتغيّر الأولويات عالمياً في السنوات الأخيرة، أصبح من الضروري التفكير في بدائل تحمينا من أي مساومة على جودة ما نقدّمه أو المبادئ التي نقف خلفها.
